Hyundai Goal of the Tournament: Vote now

Three weeks after things began with Oliwia Zwatek firing in the opening goal of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Poland 2026™ in Katowice, things have drawn to a close with Spain lifting the trophy in Lodz after defeating holders DPR Korea 4-3 on penalties.

Across a remarkable journey that saw debutants rise, heavyweights stumble, stars shine and starlets emerge, the tournament produced 181 goals.

Vote now: Hyundai Goal of the Tournament

FIFA has whittled that down to nine of the very best, with those goals now in the running for the Hyundai Goal of the Tournament. Users have until 4 October to place their vote once the window opens. After the voting window has closed, the winning goal will be announced.

Rosa Flores (Ecuador)

v Ghana (1-0), Group C, 6 September

The match was just four minutes old when Rosa Flores spotted the Ghana goalkeeper off her line. Relying on instinct and audacity, the young Ecuadorian executed a lob from over 45 metres out that found the net and brought the entire Arena Sosnowiec to its feet.

Karen Appiah (Italy)

v New Zealand (3-0), Group D, 9 September

Italy’s victory was already well within reach when Karen Appiah, coming off the bench, broke free from the New Zealand defence and executed a half-volleyed lob that found the back of the net.

Romaine Gandonou (Benin)

v Poland (4-1), Group A, 11 September

At just 15 years of age, the brilliant Beninese starlet has been one of the revelations of the tournament. Against Poland, she showed that, alongside her technical ability on the ball, she also possesses a keen eye for goal, curling a direct free-kick into the net to bid farewell to the competition in style.

Deiry Ramirez (Mexico)

v Argentina (1-1), Group A, 11 September

That goal left a "very bitter taste" for the player who scored it, as it failed to secure Mexico's qualification. Yet, her curling shot from 30 metres out — guided with pinpoint precision into the Argentine net — was a masterpiece of its kind.

Gisele (Brazil)

v England (2-1), Group B, 11 September

Brazil’s late winner against England was a superb counter-attacking move, launched down the left wing by Gisele. Starting from her own half, the winger combined with Evelin before continuing her run towards goal, subtly beating an English defender and keeping her cool to finish with finesse.

Pau Comendador (Spain)

v China PR (3-0), Group F, 13 September

After a long spell of play, Celia Segura found herself tightly marked at the edge of the penalty area while in possession of the ball. With eyes in the back of her head, the young playmaker sensed Pau Comendador making a run and executed a perfect backheeled pass to her, allowing the Real Madrid prodigy to fire the ball first-time straight into the top corner of the China PR net.

Joceline Kourevi (New Caledonia)

v Nigeria (1-9), Group F, 13 September

With Nigeria leading 9-0, New Caledonia looked set to leave Poland without a goal to their name in their final match of the tournament. But when a loose pass from the African defence fell into Joceline Kourevi’s path, she produced a sumptuous lob to score a goal that was as aesthetically pleasing as it was historic: the Cagous’ first-ever goal at a FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Kaylee Hunter (Canada)

v France (1-0), Round of 16, 17 September

The match between Canada and France was drifting along with neither side looking capable of breaking the deadlock when Kaylee Hunter stepped up. Unleashing a thunderous strike from 35 metres, the AFC Toronto player gave the unfortunate Alyssa Fernandes absolutely no chance.

Choe Rim-jong (DPR Korea)

v Canada (1-0), quarter-finals, 20 September

Extra time was looming in a match largely dominated by DPR Korea when Canada threw everything forward. The lightning-fast counter-attack that followed saw Ho Kyong escape the attentions of the young Canucks’ defence before picking out Choe Rim-jong on the edge of the box. She then weaved her way past her markers before unleashing a powerful left-footed strike that flew under the crossbar.
