Harbaugh: Extreme excitement in LA for USA opener
LA Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh speaks to FIFA about his anticipation at attending USA's clash with Paraguay at the stadium he calls home.
As head coach of the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers, Jim Harbaugh knows all about big sporting events at Los Angeles Stadium.
The esteemed American football coach is now eagerly anticipating attending the spectacular venue as a fan for USA's FIFA World Cup 2026™ opener against Paraguay on Friday.
"[There is] extreme excitement for the city and for this venue here that we're so proud of. We think it's one of the most spectacular places to play," Harbaugh told FIFA. "To see the World Cup here, obviously we're rooting for the United States and some magic to happen. It's that anticipation that makes the excitement so high."
Los Angeles Stadium has hosted a number of incredible sporting occasions since it opened, including the college football championship game and Concacaf Gold Cup final in 2023.
"We have the World Cup this summer, the Super Bowl next year and then the Olympics. It doesn't get any better than that," Harbaugh added.
Harbaugh will be attending his inaugural soccer match on Friday, along with his two sons. "I'm thrilled to experience it," he said.
